About MacArthur Park

MacArthur Park, originally named Westlake Park, was built in the 1880s and it is located in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It is a designated City of Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument. 

MacArthur Park has been used as a filming location for many films. Dating back to Charlie Chaplin days when the filming of scenes of A woman of Paris took place in the north side of the park to Film Noir murder scenes in Killer Bait, also known as Too Late for Tears.

The movie Training Day also used the park as a location when the protagonist, played by Ethan Hawke, prevents the abuse of a girl near McArthur Park. More lighthearted credits include a television episode of The Fresh Prince of BelAir and Music videos like Cupid's Chokehold by Gym Class Heroes and Lorde's Green Light.
